Places to see when in Brittany

In the North of Brittany, you will find the département of Côtes-d'Armor; here you can experience the excitement of a wild rugged coastline dotted with fascinating medieval towns ready to reveal their many ancient secrets.

Heading West, you come to the département of Finistèrere. The sea off Finistèrere is particularly rich in wildlife and you can enjoy the amazing sight of dolphins, grey seals and the many different sea birds that inhabit the several Islands off the coast there.

To the South lies the département of Morbihan where you can find pleasant sandy beaches and towns such as Vannes; with its lovely half timbered houses, impressive old ramparts and distinctly medieval character. Nearby, Auray will charm you with its superb 15th century houses, its wonderful Renaissance church and its maze of narrow cobbled streets...just waiting to be explored.

In the East, you will find Ille-et-Vilaine, the last of the quartet of Brittany départements. Here you can visit the old walled town of St Malo, with its magnificent towering ramparts, superb restaurants and vibrant cafés. This exciting town also has a number of excellent beaches right on its doorstep...perfect for relaxing on after a busy day exploring the town.
